Integrated Pest Management is a very popular phrase these days among Pest Control Operators. Of course if you ask each one what their definition of that phrase is, you may get many different answers. That in itself is disconcerting because IPM has been around for many years. Many farmers have been using it to limit damage to crops and reduce the impact on the environment due to the repeated application of pesticides. They actually can make more money applying less pesticide. The ideas of IPM can be readily adapted to structural pest problems and to some wildlife conflicts as well.

Well that's great, but how does it apply to me?
Okay, to put it plainly, your participation is required in order to succeed. Residential or Commercial it does not matter. That does not mean just writing the check, either. There are different components to IPM methods. First and foremost are cultural controls (e.g. regular cleaning schedule, garbage elimination, changes in worker procedures.) The next component is physical modifications and maintenance changes ( e.g. screening, caulking, etc.) Okay, now do you see what we are talking about? There are other components as well that we will handle such as inspection, monitoring, record keeping and finally, application of pesticides. Some times that can be avoided as well with the use of vacuums and sticky traps. The most important thing to remember is that it does not matter how much material you use, its how and where you treat that is the most important factor.
I.P.M. is a wonderful tool. There are some situations when it does not matter. Such as the huge Bald Faced Hornets nest that just suddenly appeared. ALLPEST can handle that situation for you as well.
